Panel Discussion: Impact of AI on Contemporary Education

AI is already impacting every aspect of education. Many educators are focused on the existential threat presented by AI, and the belief that AI exists to take over their work. According to Ray Fleming, in reality AI’s greatest value lies in helping us learn and work better, and allowing teachers (and schools) to focus on the things that make a difference. Schools need to ensure their AI governance structures reflect their broader values and priorities, but also to protect students and teachers. Managing this tension between embracing and containing AI is a major challenge.
