EDUtech AU Conference and Exhibition

Panel - Beyond Theory: Practical Solutions to Australia's Skills Gap Through Education, Industry, and Technology

I’m going to be moderating a panel on the first day fo the EDUtech AU Conference in Sydney.

The panel participants are:

  • Kath Hume, Director, Workforce Transformations Australia

  • Alison Wall, Chief of Staff, Future Skills Organisation

  • Kerryn Meredith-Sotiris, Relieving Chief Product and Quality Officer, TAFE NSW

  • Dr Nigel Palmer, Senior Policy Manager, Skills & Education, Business NSW

And our aim is to uncover how vocational education can evolve to meet the real needs of both learners and industry. The panel will explore the shift from compliance-driven training models to flexible, skills-based pathways that empower individuals to own their learning journeys. And how to achieve bridging the gap between education and employment through strategic workforce planning, transferable skills, and deeper employer engagement.
